Sometimes in life’s journey one needs to choose how to proceed. As this rug was being woven, I was facing a decision about my textile career. It was not until I completed what I though was a woven experiment in shape and color, and removed the rug from my loom that I could see the bigger picture, the metaphorical flowchart.

total size 32 ¾” wide x 52” long (woven area 32” wide x 45” long)

WEAVER’S NOTES

• plain weave draft of undyed cotton rug warp sett 12 ends per inch
• 1 ½” wide worn home textile fabric weft strips
• finished with twisted fringe
• ⅝” diameter oak hanging and weighting rods
